Linear guide life

When the linear guide is subjected to load and movement, bead road surface and steel ball due to continuous cyclic stress, but reached the critical value of rolling fatigue, the contact surface will begin to produce fatigue damage, and in part of the surface of the peeling phenomenon of fish scale-like flakes, this phenomenon is called the surface peeling. The definition of life is the total running distance until the surface of the bead channel and the steel ball are fatigued and surface peeling occurs.

Installation

1. Fixing method

When the bed is subjected to vibration or shock, the guideways and slides are likely to deviate from their original fixed positions, thus affecting accuracy. In order to avoid such a situation, it is recommended that the four fixing methods listed in the following figure be used to fix the rails and slides to ensure the operating accuracy of the machine.

2. Rail mounting

(1) Remove the dirt on the assembly surface of the bed.
(2) Place the linear guide smoothly on the bed, and let the side reference surface of the guide rest on the bed assembly surface.
(3) Test-lock the assembly screws to make sure the bolt holes match, and fix the bottom reference surface of the guide rail to the bottom assembly surface of the bed.
(4) Using the lateral set screws, press the side reference surfaces of the guide rail against the side assembly surface of the bed in order to determine the position of the guide rail.
(5) Using a torque wrench, tighten the assembly screws sequentially with a specific torque to force the bottom reference surface of the rail to the bottom assembly surface of the bed.
(6) Install the remaining pairs of rails in steps 1 through 5.

3.Slider mounting

(1) Use the mounting screws to attach the platform to the slider.

(2) Using the set screws, fasten the side reference surfaces of the slider to the side assembly surfaces of the platform to determine the position of the slider.

(3) Tighten the mounting screws to secure the platform to the slider in a diagonal sequence of 1 to 4.
